Ripon Community Hospital physical therapist Jesse Schulz receives BEE Award | News | riponpress.com

Jesse Schulz, an SSM Health Ripon Community Hospital physical therapist, receives a BEE Award from Therapy Services Supervisor Barb Schmitt, left, and Musculoskeletal & Rehab Services Director Zach Pitz.

Jesse Schulz, an SSM Health Ripon Community Hospital physical therapist, was named the newest recipient of the BEE (Be Exceptional Everyday) Award.

Schulz was recognized by a patient who shared her recent experience with him noting how well he explains things, includes her in the treatment plan and makes her feel comfortable attending therapy.

He also continues to promote therapy services and has been instrumental in starting the men’s pelvic health program at Ripon Community Hospital.

Men’s health — a relatively new specialty area of physical therapy and occupational therapy — centers around improving function of the muscles of the pelvis. This can help with pain, mechanical function of the hips, pelvis and low back, and sexual function. Treatments may consist of strengthening, stretching, relaxing and possible manual releases to the muscles that are in and surrounding the pelvis.

The therapy team works with each patient and their primary care provider to develop a treatment plan specifically for that patient.

The BEE Award is specifically designed to recognize non-nursing staff members who demonstrate great teamwork and communication skills, collaboration, professionalism, exemplary service and a commitment to excellence.
